I am sure you already know about this blog http://wwar1.blogspot.com/ but it is always worth mentioning it again!
It is a quite inspiring way of inspiring pupils to learn about History! :-)

One of the ideas that has already crossed my mind about creating "realia" and have the kids engaging with real content and historical facts is to connected them with the elderly, who lived that same past. And have them blogging and (photo)story-telling about it.

I know of some blogs and bloggers who have started something which could easily be converted and canalized to something more didactic.
Maria Amelia- the oldest blogger blogging http://amis95.blogspot.com/ - does talk about the Spanish Historical past from time to time.
And a group of Naval Officers in Portugal decided to continue their navigations - now virtually - after they retired http://blogueoc.blogspot.com/ . They also talk about their experiences in the colonies sometimes.

Now....wouldn't it be grand to join different generations and learn all about contemporary History from those who, in one way or another, took part in it?
Wouldn't it be bridging another gap of our society?
I can already see a project on story telling being developed around this motto! :-)

...dreaming ... as usual!
